Active Aging Week professional resources  Welcome
to the professional resources section. As a host site for Active Aging Week events,
you can make a big difference in the lives of older adults. You play the critical
role in connecting older adults with professionally designed programs.
As
a host site, you have the flexibility to create event(s) that meet the needs of
the older adults you already serve (or are trying to attract). Host site activities
are: - Free to the older adult
- Emphasize
fun and education
- A single session,
multiple activities on a single day or multiple days during the week
- Planned
during the fall, when the weather is likely to be good and participants are home
after summer travel
- A chance
to build a sense of community and camaraderie, which are keys to motivating older
adults to start and stay active
- Great
ways to highlight your services and location
- Successful
at generating participation
