Award categories

Through our annual awards, the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) recognizes the efforts of individuals and organizations that are leading the way, setting new standards and making a difference in the lives of older adults. This year, we are pleased to announce two awards competitions:

• The ICAA Innovators Award is given to wellness programs, travel services, health promotion and marketing campaigns, and education programs. Please consider applying in any area in which you’ve achieved the goal of improving wellness for older adults.

• The ICAA Green Award is presented to organizations that encourage environmental stewardship by creating and/or implementing eco-friendly products, services, processes, designs or programs in their communities.

• The ICAA Innovative Solutions Award recognizes North America's most creative wellness products and services for active older adults.

If this describes your product, program/service, campaign or green initiative, we invite you to enter the ICAA awards competitions for 2012.

Applications will go live July 2012, and are due September 2, 2012. Winners will be announced by November 1, 2012.

What recipients receive

• a complimentary 2012 ICAA/Athletic Business Conference pass (valid for 2012 ICAA conference only)
  
• an award to display in your community or center
  
• an article on your program in the Journal on Active Aging
• recognition on the ICAA website
• national recognition in the industry as an innovator and leader
  
• national media exposure

Even if you do not want to participate in the ICAA awards, we encourage you to share your story through ICAA-TV, an online service focused on older-adult health and well-being as well as the organizations that cater to the 50-plus age group.
