Continuing education units

Gain continuing education units (CEUs), also called continuing education credits (CECs), at the ICAA Conference. Sign up for the CEU program for $29 until October 1; after October 1 or on-site, the fee is $45. This fee covers costs charged by certifying agencies.

At this year’s conference, if you enroll in the CEU program, you will no longer need to carry a logbook for session monitors to stamp, or wait for up to 8 weeks for transcripts to arrive. Technology will log your attendance in sessions offering credits. This system will not only simplify and streamline CEU program participation, but also maximize networking time between sessions.

Here’s how the system will work: Each session has an assigned telephone number for a presenter to share with attendees when it ends. To receive CEUs/CECs, you text the word “icaa” to that number using either an iPhone or Android phone. A return message then confirms your name, session title, and successful “check in.” With all your check-ins tracked and stored in the system, you will receive a transcript of the sessions you attended, along with a certificate of completion, approximately one week after the event.

The ICAA Conference 2017 will offer credits from the industry providers below. If your association does not appear, you may use the certificate of completion to support an application for CEUs to this group.

Continuing Education Providers

The National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) will also provide CEUs.

The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that the “International Council on Active Aging” meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from (2017-December 2020) Provider # 804840.
