"Nuts and bolts" of assessing and programming for
older adults with balance and mobility disorders
This one-day workshop introduces you to the tools needed to assess
older adults at various levels of fall risk and how to use the results
to develop appropriate exercise progressions.
You'll learn how to:
- Identify older adults at
risk for falls.
- Identify, administer and
interpret the results of valid and reliable screening and assessment
tools for identifying functional limitations associated with balance
disorders.
- Tailor balance exercises
to individuals in group exercise settings.
Who should attend?
Wellness center directors, physical activity instructors of older
adults, and other allied healthcare providers.

This session shows you how to increase the intensity of a walking
workout by engaging more of the body's muscle groups, resulting
in increased cardiovascular benefits.
You'll learn how to:
- Start a walking program.
- Adapt walking programs for
all fitness levels.
- Build the intensity of walking
workouts.

who wants to implement a walking program.
