Workplace intervention improves blood pressure control
Chinese researchers investigated a multicomponent workplace-based intervention that combines workplace health promotion and high blood pressure management and found that it had a significantly positive effect on blood pressure control. It's not a quick fix: the intervention took place over two years in 60 workplaces with a total of more than 4,000 employees (mean age, 46; 83% men). But it got results, and is something to consider.

Hand sanitizers often used improperly
The coronavirus is on everyone's mind right now, and there are few proven preventive strategies. The first of several recommendations from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is: "Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available."

Stats: Juggling team supervision, other duties challenges 68% of managers
Sixty-eight percent of managers say their top challenge as a people leader is juggling management of their team with their other responsibilities, according to a report from Toronto-based SoapBox, which produces a management app. Does this resonate with you or your organization? A new report from global research company Leading Edge Forum in London, UK, investigated a range of digital and hybrid working environments to determine how they influence issues of trust, communication and culture. This is important as active-aging organizations are moving to construct new headquarters and other work spaces using varying types of collaborative environments. The report, entitled "Reconfiguring the collaborative workspace: making the most of time, space and attitude," is based on 50 hours of interviews with people working in a wide range of environments at different organization levels.
