In 2017, 86% of US adults ages 65+ reported having a medication prescription in the previous year. Even though most have prescription drug coverage through Medicare Part D, private insurance, Medicaid or the Veterans Administration, many still attempt to reduce their prescription drug costs, according to researchers from the US National Center for Health Statistics.
