Founder Richard B. Mazess, PhD, recognized the need for a tool to assist medical personnel in their treatment of osteoporosis. Over the years, Lunar has expanded to the field of metabolic health, including body composition.

Lunar was formed by Richard B. Mazess, PhD, a researcher at the University of Wisconsin. Mazess recognized the need for a diagnostic tool to assist medical personnel in their treatment of bone diseases, specifically osteoporosis.
