Step counts to meet physical activity recommendations

In a prior volume, ICAA Research Review (9[34] 2009) reported the results of two literature reviews identifying step counts. One review including people 50-94 years old found that they walked from 2,015-8,938 steps/day. The second review looked at people with chronic conditions, such as type 1 diabetes (8,008 median steps/day) and mental retardation/intellectual disability (7,787 median steps/day). A new analysis is intended to align steps/day with public health recommendations
