Ride the bus, reduce risk of obesity
In England, people who reach the State Pension age of 60 or 65 or have a disability can use free bus passes between 9:30 am and 11:00 pm weekdays, or all day on weekends (UK Directgov). The policy to provide free passes went into effect in 2006. According to background in a new study, 76% of people 60 years and older had a free bus pass and 39% of this age group used a bus at least once a week in 2009.
