Providers need education on foodborne illness
Each year, about 48 million people in the United States become sick, are hospitalized or die because of foodborne disease (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). According to background in a new study, older adults are at higher risk of foodborne illness because of sensory decline such as poor eyesight or dementia or a decreased sense of smell.
