Stand up to help prevent diabetes
For people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, the first line of defense is weight loss, healthy eating and physical activity (National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse). People with risk factors are usually advised to engage in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for at least 150 minutes per week to reduce their risk for acquiring the condition.
