Updated stroke guidelines add nutrition to physical activity

A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, either because of blockage by a blood clot (ischemic) or a hemorrhage. May is American Stroke Month and a good time to remember that stroke is the fourth cause of death in the United States (American Heart Association). In Canada, stroke is the third leading cause of death (Statistics Canada).
