Canada's population grows, and grows older

The population of Canada increased to about 35.5 million people (July 1, 2014), according to estimates based on 2011 Census counts, largely due to international migration. The population is also growing older. There are an estimated 4.7 million people ages 55-64, a number that surpassed the estimated 4.6 million people 15-24 years old.
