[HOME, WELL HOME] What's next in wellness real estate

Consumers taking longevity-focused supplements and exercising regularly are now expecting their homes to support wellness, too, according to a recent article in Athletech News. The article, highlighted by the Global Wellness Institute, looks at trends in wellness real estate, citing developers and property teams working on their latest projects.

The trends for 2026 and beyond include:

  • Oxygen optimization: In locations such as Colorado, where people may live in high-altitude, oxygen-poor environments, in-home oxygenation systems could help. One such system has been installed in a luxury residential project in a former mining town.
  • Ubiquitous pickleball: Developers are building courts into residential properties to give buyers access, circumventing waitlists.
  • Sound as a wellness essential: Amenity spaces are increasingly including sound bath meditations, chimes, gongs and glass bowls to their offerings.
