Mental health crisis lines missing older adults

Nearly a third of adults ages 50+ (31%) have never heard of a mental health crisis line, according to a new survey from the University of Michigan’s National Poll on Healthy Aging. The findings come as the addition of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the US national service for mental health and substance misuse crisis support, makes it easier to get immediate counseling, and has fielded more than 26 million calls, texts, and chats since its launch.
