People with dementia improve with cognitive stimulation

Does mental exercise slow memory decline or impact other cognitive abilities in people who already have dementia? Dementia is the name given to a group of impairments in reasoning, judgment and memory. To find out, researchers searched for published studies that focused on “cognitive stimulation” activities such as word games, puzzles, music, discussions of past events or current events, and practical activities such as baking or indoor gardening.
