Higher prevalence of dementia in assisted living, but fewer specialized residences

An independent analysis of data from the US 2010 National Survey of Residential Care Facilities compared small (4-10 bed) assisted living and residential care communities (adult care homes, board care homes and adult foster care) with medium (11-26 beds) and large/extra large residences of 26 or more beds (Assisted Living Federation of America/George Mason University, November 2013).
