Active Aging Week: September 23 - 29, 2012

logoAre you ready to get active? You'll feel better, have more energy and likely stay more healthy. That adds up to being able to do what you want, when you want.

Active aging means living life as fully as possible. How well we age has much more to do with how well we function, and a lot less to do with the years. And we all function better when we take a walk, visit friends and family, work crosswords or work for money, and sing and dance.

During Active Aging Week, held the last week of September every year, you can find an activity that's right for you. Host sites offer a wealth of options. There are strolls and walks, free classes, education seminars (like how to prevent falls or exercise with arthritis), open houses at fitness facilities, health fairs and … there are a lot of choices. All across the country, you'll find retirement communities, seniors and community centers, health clubs, churches and even corporate fitness centers giving you a chance to try something new.

Active Aging Week activities are FREE! Fun! No pressure. Suited to everyone. Give them a try.
