Tech Talk: AI more effective than GP at diagnosing illnesses
A recent study showed for the first time that artificial intelligence (AI) was better than general practitioners (GPs) in diagnosing disease from written test cases. Forty-four GPs assessed an average of 159 cases each and achieved a mean score of 71.40%, whereas AI achieved 77.26%. The AI was integrated into a health app called Babylon. The AI will be included the publicly-available app following regulatory approvals in the UK and elsewhere, according to the company.
