Moderate physical activity lowers risk of diabetes mortality

Exercise is planned and progressive movement with the goal of improving physical fitness. Physical activity is also movement that increases energy expenditure, but it covers more categories, including leisure-time physical activities, such as walking or gardening or housework. Exercise, along with diet, is a treatment for type 2 diabetes because it helps control weight and lower blood sugar (PubMed Health). Can physical activity help manage diabetes the way that exercise can? Since people with type 2 diabetes are also at high risk of cardiovascular disease, a research team sought to answer that question.
