How does it feel to be in chronic pain?

People with chronic musculoskeletal pain develop similar attitudes, according to a meta-ethnography of 77 studies. Meta-ethnography is a systematic approach to synthesizing qualitative research. The trends the authors found among people reporting chronic pain included feeling uncertain about the future, and being constantly aware of the pain restricting their bodies. They also felt it was impossible to prove that they had pain, and therefore their doctors and healthcare providers may not believe them.
