Thrive Senior Living expand footprint with acquisition of Savannah Commons

Innovative industry leader adopts largest community to date, invests in growth of human experience.

Thrive Senior Living is pleased to announce the company's acquisition of Savannah Commons, a senior living community in historic Savannah, Georgia. The purchase - which took place in early June - marks a significant benchmark for the bold industry leader: Savannah Commons will be the largest community operated by Thrive to date. This acquisition falls in step with Thrive's commitment to shift the industry norm from a clinical experience to a human experience -- positively impacting more residents in new markets with the goal of ultimately changing the industry from the inside out.

As part of Thrive Senior Living's multimillion-dollar investment, Savannah Commons will undergo design changes, updates and renovations in the coming year to elevate living standards and provide a warm and inviting space for residents to prosper.

"We begin each acquisition process with a simple question: 'Do we have the ability to do more good?' If the answer is 'yes,' we begin reimagining a community's physical and social environments," said Les Strech, President of Thrive Senior Living. "Since physical transformations aren't created in a vacuum, we believe in tapping the creative minds of long-term residents and local team members to produce the best ideas. By listening to and investing in the opinions of residents and their families, we have the chance to challenge the norm of traditional senior living in vibrant communities such as Savannah."

As the investor and operator in the property, Thrive Senior Living has again joined forces with Equus Development Partners (a development partner for Thrive at Augusta and Thrive on Skidaway), as well as Birmingham Alabama-based Harvest Capital and United Community Bank. Savannah Commons, which rests on over nine acres, offers 34 assisted living and 36 memory care suites, as well as 142 independent living apartments.

"Thrive's relationship-driven operational model is making waves across our industry, and we are looking forward to joining forces with its dynamic team in Savannah," said Joyce Crowder-McBride, President of Savannah Commons. "We believe the company's commitment to the human connection, its successful track record with residents' well-being and its forward-thinking practices will make a real difference here."
