[CREATURE COMFORT] ElliQ, a digital companion, now available for sale

After years in development and testing, and in time to help address pandemic-induced loneliness, Intuition Robotics’ ElliQ is now available for sale. Thousands of older adults applied to use ElliQ during the testing period, hundreds were chosen, and data showed high engagement scores for the robot, positioned as "the sidekick for healthier, happier aging."

During testing, older adults interacted with ElliQ an average of 20 times a day for an average of 20 minutes a day, using ElliQ mainly for health and wellness support while spending time with ElliQ as a companion. In a recent pilot study, ElliQ was shown to more than double the completion of activities supporting physical exercise, stress reduction and better sleep.

ElliQ offers a range of companionship, health and wellness, communication, entertainment, and assistive features, including the following:

  • Physical exercise videos through a partnership with Silver Sneakers.
  • Health content through a collaboration with Mayo Clinic.
  • Access to transportation support with Uber Health.
  • Regular check-ins and notifications to a loved one if needed.
  • Health and wellness goal setting and tracking.
  • Ability to easily send and receive text messages and conduct video calls.
  • Music, jokes, trivia, news, and various activities.

Intuition Robotics has won several awards for its work with ElliQ, including Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies and the CES Best of Innovation award. The company's story and launch of a beta version was covered in the Tech Talk column of the May/June 2018 issue of the Journal on Active Aging© (https://www.icaa.cc/store_detail.php?id=6517)

Pricing includes a $249.99 startup fee, with a monthly subscription that starts at $29.99.
