[CATCH!] Global fitness ball market booming

The global fitness ball market size was nearly $307.1 million in 2021 and is set to increase to about $607.1 million by 2030, with a CAGR of nearly 8.1% between 2022 and 2030, according to a Zion market research study.

For the purposes of the report, a fitness ball was defined as a yoga or exercise ball that is used for improving balance, core strength, and muscle tone. The Swiss fitness ball and medicine-ball exercises are used mainly to promote balance in activities of daily living. The Swiss ball is also used to increase strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, whereas the medicine ball has been shown to improve the speed of exercise, strength, agility, and endurance; it also can improve physical function through the integration of upper and lower body training.

Key findings of the report include:

- The global fitness ball market is anticipated to surge at a "remarkable" rate over the forecast period due to escalating demand for improving body balance, body posture, core strength, and muscle tone.
- Based on size, the 65 cm diameter segment contributed to a major market share in 2021.
- The online segment registered the fastest CAGR over 2022-2030.
- Growth drivers include a "huge need for enhancing body posture and health and fitness" and
escalating demand for improving body balance, core strength, and muscle tone.
- The perception that fitness balls are used for easier workouts while improving physique will boost the market.
– Sedentary lifestyles and hectic work schedules have resulted in increased acceptance of in-home devices such as fitness balls that require a low investment and occupy lesser space, but are still effective, particularly for those with low-back pain.
- A challenge for the market is that fitness balls are not adjustable, which can lead to poor posture while using them, and this has largely limited the home-use vs the commercial markets.
