[WELL, WELL, WELL] Nike launches Well Collective

In mid-June, Nike launched an initiative called Nike Well Collective, which aims to deliver  “innovation, expertise, services and experiences across body, mind and life,” according to the company.  The initiative “is designed to support wellness journeys for everyone, however they define them,” says Amy Montagne, VP/GM of Global Nike Women’s. “It celebrates all bodies and all forms of movement. Because we know holistic fitness is more than just sport,… our ultimate goal is to help more people move, feel good in their bodies and connect with what matters most — a life well lived.”

To fuel the initiative, Nike is onboarding more than 1,000 new global fitness trainers and engaging with a diverse roster of award-winning academics, researchers, scientists, medical professionals and academic authors. Beginning June 13, Nike Live stores became Nike Well Collective stores, and @niketraining became @nikewellcollective on Instagram.

Nike’s five pillars of holistic fitness form the foundation of the initiative: movement, mindfulness, nutrition, rest and connection. In movement, the collective looks to provide resources, inspiration and knowledge for moving the body — from traditional sports to activities like dance, yoga, walking and stretching.

In its mindfulness pillar, the collective will promote research-backed methods, such as meditation, visualization, breath work and self-talk, to help people feel more centered and balanced. In the nutrition space, it will offer expert advice with a shame-free approach to help people fuel their movement and feel their best. The rest pillar will provide actionable ways to maximize sleep and recovery.

In its connection pillar, Nike Well Collective will present opportunities for community, both online and in person. Through its sport research lab, the company will develop and provide resources for all aspects of holistic fitness.
