NIC and ICAA launch education course to advance Wellness ROI understanding in Senior Living
(Vancouver, BC: November 31, 2025) The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA) to create and promote a first-of-its-kind wellness education course designed specifically for investors, owners, and operators in the senior living sector.
This initiative marks a significant step toward aligning wellness practices with financial performance, helping industry leaders understand how wellness integration drives both resident well-being and organizational return on investment (ROI).
“ICAA is excited to be collaborating with NIC on the creation and promotion of this course,” said Colin Milner, CEO and founder of ICAA. “It is vital that the industry has access to education that is not only evidence-based but also targeted to the needs of investors and operators. This course makes the strong case for why organizations should be moving their investments into wellness. Given that ICAA research shows 71% of senior living communities will be based in a wellness culture—with care—by 2030, the timing of this course is perfect.”
The new Wellness Course consists of five modules that cover the following:
- The Financial Impact of Wellness Programming
- Enhancing Resident Well-Being and Life Satisfaction
- Operationalizing Wellness for Strategic Advantage
- Case Study: WellRun Senior Living’s Wellness Program Implementation
- Emerging Trends and Future Opportunities
Upon completion, participants will gain a clearer understanding of what wellness truly encompasses, the commitment required to succeed, and how to achieve measurable ROI that benefits both the business’s bottom line and residents’ health outcomes.
“America’s aging population is arriving with higher expectations for health, purpose, and connection,” says Ray Braun, CEO of NIC. “Wellness is no longer an amenity, but a priority for residents. To meet that moment, investors, owners, and operators need a shared playbook for wellness—one that links resident outcomes to business performance. This course gives partners the common language and evidence they need to align strategy, execution, and ROI in serving older adults.”
The course is available through both the NIC website and in the ICAA Education Portal.
