"Swapping sugary drinks for coffee, tea or water was linked to fewer deaths from heart disease and other causes among adults with diabetes in a recent study. The findings highlight the role of healthy beverage choices to manage risk, according to the study authors. "University of Geneva researchers have found that practicing and listening to music can alter cognitive decline in healthy older adults by stimulating the production of grey matter. The study, conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago, is an analysis of enrollment and administrative claims data for Medicare patients covered by Medicare Advantage and original Medicare, and was funded by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). "

[HOMING IN] Boomers make up largest generation of home buyers

"The share of baby boomers has surpassed millennials and now makes up the largest generation of home buyers, according to the latest survey from the National Association of Realtors®. The trends report, which examines the similarities and differences of recent home buyers and sellers across generations, found that the combined share of younger boomer (58 to 67 years old) and older boomer buyers (68 to 76 years old) rose to 39% in 2022, up from 29% the year prior. Younger millennials (24 to 32 years old) and older millennials (33 to 42 years old) have been the top group of buyers since 2014, but they saw their combined share fall from 43% in 2021 to 28% last year."
