Infection control: a healthy practice for all by Leah Klusch, R.N.

The sudden appearance and rapid spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (or SARS) proves yet again how vulnerable we humans are to infectious diseases. Health officials working to contain SARS urge people to wash their hands frequently to help prevent infection. In the human battle against disease, handwashing is a small, but powerful, weapon.
We generally do not wash our hands frequently enough.
